Job Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services to meet the company's operational needs. The Buyer will play a crucial role in maintaining positive vendor relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of business operations.

  1. Sourcing and Procurement: Identify reliable suppliers and source quality materials, products, and services. Evaluate and compare supplier offerings to make informed purchasing decisions. Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable agreements.
  2. Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential vendors. Monitor vendor performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing. Collaborate with vendors to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  3. Cost Optimization: Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    Implement cost-effective procurement strategies while maintaining quality standards.
    Negotiate bulk purchasing discounts and favorable payment terms.
  1. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges in the execution of strategic plans.
    Develop mitigation strategies to address risks and maintain plan integrity.
  1. Monitoring and Reporting: Establish monitoring mechanisms to track progress against strategic objectives. Prepare regular reports and updates for stakeholders, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement.

  1. Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration across various teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  2. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Work closely with the planning team to minimize excess or obsolete inventory. Implement strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
  1. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and agreements.
  2. Collaborate with the legal team to review and finalize contractual documents.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

1.    Minimum education requirement

University or above.

2.    Relevant experience and minimum years required

3.    Basic skills requirements

Computer:  Proficient PC skills (MS Office related applications).


Competence Requirements:

1.    Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.

2.    Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.

3.    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

4.    Familiarity with inventory management and procurement software.

5.    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

6.    Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
